Indigenous Pride Month films/panel - Fri, May 19

by Green & Gold News  |

Native Student Services is kicking off Pride Month early! Join us in partnership with Native Movement on Friday, May 19 from 6 - 8 p.m. in Rasmuson Hall 101 for a screening of two films: Apayauq and Dear Kin, with a panel discussion after featuring Apayauq Reitan, Alexis Anoruk Sallee, Emma Agnes Sheffer, and Jenny Irene Miller!

Apayauq, directed by Zeppelin Zeerip, tells the story of Apayauq Reitan's journey to become the first out transgender woman to complete the legendary Iditarod sled dog race.
Dear Kin, directed by Alexis Anoruk Sallee, is a video series accompanied by photographic portraits highlighting various Indigenous LGBTQ2S+ peoples and their personal stories.

This is the first stop for the screening tour of these two films, and we're excited to be hosting it here at UAA.
All are welcome!
