Call for Intercultural Fluency Submissions – Deadline Extended to May 9

by Green & Gold News  |

At the May 11 Annual Assessment Retreat, we will break into discussion groups for a collaborative Photovoice activity about the Intercultural Fluency core competency.

All departments across academic and non-academic areas are encouraged to submit photos of their examples of how they support Intercultural Fluency for this activity.

You can be creative about the context! Faculty might choose a classroom assignment or extracurricular activity, and staff might highlight how they model the competency in their offices. Watch for a new opportunity or use an existing picture!

This activity is interactive and your creative submissions will help make our conversation meaningful and representative of UAA’s efforts!

Photovoice Submission Guidance
• Assignment: Take photographs of the ways you see students learning the knowledge and skills necessary to promote effective and appropriate interaction in a variety of cultural contexts, particularly in terms of the diverse populations of Alaska.
Media Release Form: Please stay on the lookout for good photo opportunities and ensure that any person in your photos signs a media release form!
Submission: Submit your photo, signed media releases, and your reflections on the photo by 5 pm on Tuesday, May 9. (Deadline extended!)
• Want More Context? See the February 10 Forum Slides that introduced the Photovoice method and provided examples of our previous core competency photo submissions.

We look forward to seeing you on May 11!
