ASL 101 and Deaf Culture

by Green & Gold News  |

You are all invited to join us on July 31 for an upcoming development session for employees called “ASL 101 and Deaf Culture.” This session will be taught by Michael Merritt from Hope Community Resources, Inc. and will have two interpreters present. We will take some time to understand deaf culture as well as the resources that are available to help make more inclusive environments in the workplace. We will start the class with an introduction to ASL and dive into the Deaf Navigator program, how to work with interpreters and how to recognize equipment. We will end the class by going over community resources and will then open it up for questions. Hope to see you there! Please RSVP on the Employee Experience Website.
