Creekside Eatery Returns to Reusable Serving Ware

by Green & Gold News  |

Starting Monday this week, Creekside Eatery has replaced the compostable trays and cutlery with traditional serving ware. Guests will now eat off porcelain plates and bowls and drink from washable cups and coffee mugs.

Seawolf Dining's General Manager Chris Tarsitano says, "We're always looking at ways to reduce our carbon footprint. The food service industry has led the way in many aspects, and for us, traditional plates and silverware greatly impact what goes in the trash bin. We're excited to get back on track with our past efforts and expand on them as new options and technology become available." Plates and silverware were shelved during the pandemic due to reduced labor force and attendance on campus. This change is one of many sustainability efforts that will be renewed or adapted as we prepare for next semester.
