Call for Student Conduct Advocates!

by Green & Gold News  |

Are you interested in supporting students and helping them navigate the process when they are alleged to have violated the Student Code of Conduct? Student Conduct is looking for additional volunteers to be Student Conduct Advocates for the 2023-2024 academic year.

What does being a Student Conduct Advocate entail? Advocates provide support in many different forms to students, ranging from helping students process how to best advocate for themselves, attending student conduct meetings with students, or just providing students overall guidance on the conduct process. Student Conduct staff will train you so you have the skills and knowledge you need to effectively support students who are going through the student conduct process!

This opportunity is open to current faculty, staff, and students. The time commitment is a two hour training to be scheduled during early fall semester, plus any cases you support students on throughout the year. Over the past few years, our advocates have supported 0 to 4 students per year. If you are interested in serving as a Student Conduct Advocate, or have questions that would help you decide if this is an opportunity that would be a good fit for you, please contact Nick Kramer at njkramer@alaska.edu or via phone at (907) 786-1277. Student Conduct would like to thank our current and future advocates for their time and commitment to serving and supporting UAA students!
