Seawolf Dining is committed to supporting the nourishment of everyone on the UAA campus - and how can a food service program help the most? Supporting food insecurity. According to the UAA Seawolf Food Pantry, nearly 45% of UAA students experience some form of food insecurity. Food insecurity creates a taxing burden for students while in higher education.

To support this cause, Seawolf Dining, directed by David Weaver and Trenten Hall, donates 500 meal swipes annually to the UAA campus. We're also excited to share that through student donations, during our spring semester Swipe Away Hunger campaign, an extra 232 swipes (on top of the 500) were loaded on cards and delivered to Dean of Students Ben Morton's office for distribution for the fall semester! Students can request the cards from the Dean of Students Office and the UAA Care Team. These meal cards provide students experiencing food insecurity access to Creekside Eatery - the campus's all-you-care-to-eat residential dining hall in Gorsuch Commons.

If you have extra meal swipes and want to support this program, watch out for our fall "Swipe Away Hunger" campaign. Creekside Eatery is open to the public and offers a new daily menu, salad bar, soups and pizza station. The Eatery is a great place to start your day for breakfast with fluffy pancakes and breakfast burritos or afternoon comfort foods like hearty lasagna and tacos.
