Understory is now accepting student creative writing submissions until Friday, Dec. 1! Submissions are open to any UAA student taking a minimum of three credits.

Join Come From Away writers Irene Sankoff and David Hein along with UAA Professors E.J.R. David (Psychology), Terry Kelly (Philosophy), and moderator Joy Chavez Mapaye (Journalism and Public Communications) as they delve into the themes of the Broadway hit Musical "Come From Away."

Join artist, Amy Meissner, for an intimate workshop featuring the art of repair, with a focus on darning. Strong and portable, this craft practice, which uses a type of weaving to infill holes or reinforce worn areas by hand, is widely applicable to well-loved garments and textiles, from chunky knit sweaters to fine base layers, to socks, gloves and even torn mesh on backpacks or favorite running shoes.

Statewide NSF Informational Sessions for Computer and Information Science & Engineering (CISE) NSF program officers from Computer and Information Science & Engineering (CISE) directorate will hold in-person informational seminars and Q&A sessions.

Facilities & Campus Services units Maintenance & Operations, Planning & Construction, and Environmental Health & Safety will be closed 12:30pm - 3:00pm and General Support Services will be closed 11:30am - 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 8th for an all-hands meeting. For facility related emergencies please contact UPD at 786-1120.

The Enrollment Service Center will be closing at 12 p.m. on Nov. 22 and 1 p.m. on Dec. 22. At the time of closure the phones will be turned off and the lobby will be closed.
