Graduate Education Learning Community: Mentoring McNair Scholars

Graduate Education Learning Communities are sessions aimed at professors who teach graduate students, and the next session will be about mentoring McNair Scholars. A McNair Scholar has profound drive and motivation to succeed in graduate school. As a first generation/ under-represented/ low-income student, they often need a faculty mentor to talk with outside the classroom. A McNair Faculty Mentor has the privilege of getting to know a McNair Scholar to support all aspects of their journey through graduate school. This session provides an overview of the McNair program and the mentor experience with time for discussion. You will get a certificate of completion awarded for attendance.
