This new course, Writing A290, will explore the challenges and opportunities writers face when working with generative artificial intelligence (AI). It will examine the history and criticisms of large language models (LLMs), as well as techniques for effective LLM prompting. Students will be invited to compose, and carefully reflect upon the merits and limitations of, writing produced with the aid of LLMs. Students, community members, faculty members and staff are invited to join.
