Recruiting for the Residence Coordinator Position

UAA's Department of Residence Life has reopened the search for the Residence Coordinator (RC) position in East Hall working with our amazing First-Year Residential Experience (FYRE) program. The FYRE RC has the unique responsibility of overseeing a community made up entirely of first-year students under the age of 21, who are navigating the transition to college. The FYRE RC has the ability to significantly impact the collegiate journey of nearly 200 first-year students and is primarily responsible for coordinating all aspects of a safe, comfortable and academically-focused living learning environment for these students.

To qualify for this position, candidates must have a master's degree, preferably in a field related to student services or higher education administration (or a combination of significant, relevant education with at least a bachelor’s degree earned and directly related work experience equivalent to an advanced degree). Candidates must also have previous experience supervising or leading a team, responding to crisis situations and successfully working with a diverse group of people. Please note that candidates are required to reside in a professional staff member apartment. This is a full-time, 11-month, term position, renewable for a total of 4 terms maximum. The RC position is a Grade 79, and includes a furnished, on-campus apartment and a staff meal in the fall and spring semesters at no cost to the employee.
