"Versatile Journal", workshop opportunity with artist Susan Joy Share, Oct. 9

Employees and students are invited to join the UAA Department of Art to fold, sew, glue and add personal touches to create a unique handmade book for writing, drawing and collecting. Participants should bring scissors, a pencil, an eraser, a small amount of collage material and their enthusiasm.

Event Details

This is a free event with free parking in the Arts lot. The event is open to the public, though space is limited. To RSVP for a spot in the workshop, please email Alanna at aderocchi@alaska.edu

Artist Biography

Susan Joy Share is an Anchorage, Alaska-based visual artist, bookbinder and performer. Her passion for the book form, its structural variations, materials and potential for movement blends with her interest in sculpture, painting, sewing and collage. She creates kinetic forms, architectural spaces, costumes and experimental books that integrate visual depth, movement and sound.

Susan currently has a solo exhibition, 'Breathing Both Sides', on view at the Arc Gallery at UAA/APU Consortium Library, which runs through Nov. 1.
