Led by perfect 4.00 grade-point averages from junior Madison Galloway and seniors Kadyn Osborne and Bethany Tuchardt, UAA placed four student-athletes Tuesday on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Volleyball Team.
A psychology major from Pensacola, Fla., Galloway earned the honor for a second straight season, while leading the Seawolves with 4.07 digs per set. Meanwhile, Osborne (journalism and public communications, Anchorage/Dimond High School) paced the Seawolves with 5.22 assists per set as she and fellow JC transfer Tuchardt (management, Battle Ground, Wash.) earned their first career honors. On the court, Tuchardt led UAA’s regular-rotation hitters with a .230 attack percentage, producing 2.23 kills per set.
The 4.00 trio was joined by first-time honoree Tia Allen, an art major who holds a 3.91 overall GPA in her fourth collegiate season. The redshirt junior from Clayton, Wash., was an honorable mention All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference performer, leading UAA with 2.35 kills per set and eight double-doubles.
Allen is now a candidate for CSC Academic All-America honors, which will be announced next month.
