Donate excess personal protective equipment to help meet community needs

The UAA Office of Emergency Management in the EH&S Department continues to coordinate donations of medical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the state Department of Health and Social Services. If your department has excess nitrile exam gloves, exam gowns, face shields, N95 masks or other PPE, please let us know at emergencymanager@alaska.edu and we can pick it up. Thank you!

Department/Special Honors for May 2020 Commencement Program Deadline April 3

While the in-person commencement ceremony is canceled for this May, we will still be publishing a commencement program to recognize our graduates. Please submit the list of your students graduating with departmental honors to uaa.degrees@alaska.edu by the April 3, 2020 deadline to be included in the program.

Spring withdrawal deadline extended to April 10

The withdrawal deadline has been extended to April 10th in response to COVID-19. Students are encouraged to try the new delivery methods of their courses before choosing to withdraw. If they are an international student, a student athlete, and/or are receiving financial aid or military tuition assistance/VA educational benefits, it is important that students be aware that they may be negatively impacted by withdrawing. Students should reach out to their academic advisor and/or the appropriate office to discuss impacts prior to withdrawing.

March 26, 2020: Town Hall on Chancellor Recommendations

A virtual town hall to update the UA community on the process going forward for expedited academic review recommendations will be held from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 26. Recommendations on program eliminations or suspensions have been submitted by Chancellors Caulfield, Sandeen and White to President Jim Johnsen.
