Claudia Lampman to assume role of interim vice provost for student success

Following a thorough internal search process, Dr. Claudia Lampman has been appointed interim vice provost for student success. She will begin in this new role on Nov. 1, 2017. Dr. Lampman is passionate about student success and has demonstrated a willingness and ability to break down barriers, to build bridges across disciplines and departments, and to lead UAA to meet the goals of UAA 2020 and beyond.

Oct. 20, 2017: UAA SafeZone hosts Lavender Lunch on topic of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

UAA SafeZone will hold a Lavender Lunch on the topic of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" this Friday, Oct. 20, noon–1 p.m. in the Student Union Leadership Lab, located on the second floor. Active duty and U.S. military veterans will share some of their experiences and current work with Pride events at JBER here in Alaska. We hope you'll join us for the discussion.

Take a tour of Archives and Special Collections at open house - Oct. 25, 2017

To celebrate Archives Month, the UAA/APU Archives and Special Collections is hosting an open house Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. This is a great opportunity to learn about and look at the different types of collections we have. We will also feature Alaska photographs and film, and provide tours of our vault.

Fall 2017: Care Team Book Club meets Thursdays to discuss 'I Am Malala'

The Care Team Book Club aims to encourage a connected, caring community focused on enriching Anchorage, from the university into the community. For fall 2017, the group is reading "I Am Malala."
