Services Review

Purpose/Charge

CPAB annually conducts an assessment of the overall effectiveness and alignment to mission and goals of a variety of non-degree programs and services at UAA.  Similar to the Academic Program Review, this review involves several steps, utilizes data, is built upon input from the program’s staff, and is geared toward improvement, rather than being evaluative. The result of the review will be a recommendation to the appropriate Vice Chancellor, Cabinet-level position, or Campus Director for one of the following four outcomes, to Enhance, Continue, Continue with ongoing monitoring or revisions, or Reduce/Discontinue.

This process provides a way for UAA to ensure a focus on continuous improvement, alignment of resources to mission and goals, and appropriate engagement of governance and impacted constituencies (NWCCU Standards: 1.B.1.,  2.A.4., 2.E.2.).  Additionally, the Board of Regents’ Policy, P10.06.010. Academic Program Review includes a requirement that each MAU will conduct assessments of all instructional, research, and service programs [emphasis added] with respect to quality, efficiency, and contribution to mission and goals.
