Campus Planning Advisory Board

Purpose/Charge

The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Campus Planning Advisory Board (CPAB) was established in 2020 to enhance institutional communication, decision-making transparency, and strategic alignment. CPAB advises the Chancellor and the Chancellor’s Cabinet on guiding principles, policies, and resources impacting the UAA community, ensuring alignment with the university's strategic plan. CPAB reviews and provides input on policy and resource decisions submitted to the Cabinet to facilitate strategic alignment and resource allocation.

CPAB’s Responsibilities

  • Provide input for UAA’s planning and budgeting processes, including reviewing and submitting feedback on the annual Strategic Guidance and Operating Budget Development Guidelines.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of UAA’s planning and budgeting processes, including principles and methodologies.
  • Facilitate meaningful participation from relevant governance groups within the university community.

Examples of CPAB Responsibilities

  • Offer input on alignment, budget implications, and prioritization related to the UAA Strategic Plan, Accreditation process, and Campus Master Plan.
  • Gain insight into UAA’s financial status and discuss budget-to-actual comparisons with previous years.
  • Provide input into budget processes, including Administrative Reviews.

Meeting Details

Meetings occur on the second Monday of each month during the Spring and Fall semesters. Meetings do not typically take place during the Summer semester. Meeting dates are subject to change at the Co-Chairs' discretion.
