The Graduate Academic Board (GAB) plays a critical role in shaping and maintaining
the quality of graduate education at the University of Alaska Anchorage. The board
reviews and approves new graduate courses and programs, as well as modifications to
existing ones, ensuring that they are rigorous and aligned with the university's academic
objectives. Composed of faculty representatives from various academic units, Faculty
Senators, and a graduate student representative, the GAB advises on policies and procedures
that impact graduate education, supporting the development of advanced educational
and professional skills among graduate students.
