The Friends of the Arts at UAA is a membership club that helps support a thriving arts ecosystem at UAA, in Anchorage, and across Alaska. Your membership supports the vibrant arts programs at UAA, directly impacting our students, faculty, alumni, and partners who power the local arts community. Strong Arts at UAA means strong Arts for Anchorage and Alaska.
 
Your contribution helps strengthen the Fine Arts Building as a hub for creativity, communication, discovery and performance on campus and sends the message to all in our community that the arts are an important part of higher education.

  • Dance minor is back with UAA alumna Katie O'Loughlin as professor.
  • New professorship in music (Davies-Meyers Professor of Music) established with a $25,000 annual award to help recruit new faculty and promote excellence.
  • Visiting indigenous artists from numerous traditions taught in the Alaska Native Arts class.
  • Visiting professors in ceramics and printmaking presented lectures and workshops for the UAA and Anchorage communities.
  • Light boards in Recital Hall updated to modern standards.
  • Movable risers purchased for Jerry Harper Black Box Studio.
  • Dance floor and sound proofing purchased for the new dance studio.
