In March 2016, UAA in partnership with Romig Middle School Social Studies teachers launched our Pilot MUN Program for Middle School in Anchorage.  Over 300 Middle School students participated, along with members of the UAA Secretariat, students from West High School and dozens of parent volunteers.  For the 7^th grade teachers the MUN experience touches on history, geography, economics, culture, current events, public speaking and more. Not to mention, it helps to create global awareness from a young age, and with an ever-growing interdependent international community, what could be more important?  We are already preparing to expand the Middle School MUN program next year!
