Alaska needs More Civil Engineers!
Invest in the Future of Alaska!
The UAA Civil Engineering Department, in partnership with our Advisory Board, is excited to announce an initiative aimed at addressing the pressing need for civil engineers in Alaska. As our infrastructure ages and the demand for sustainable solutions grows, we must bolster our workforce with skilled professionals ready to tackle these challenges.
Why Invest?
- Growing Demand: Alaska's unique environment presents a variety of engineering challenges—from climate resilience to sustainable development. We need a robust pipeline of civil engineers to build our future.
- Scholarships for Success: By providing scholarships, we can attract high-caliber students to our Civil Engineering program, reducing financial barriers and enabling them to focus on their education.
- Engaging the Community: We’re committed to outreach and recruitment efforts that inspire the next generation. Through partnerships with local schools like ASD Academies and King Tech, we aim to create clear educational pathways into civil engineering, engaging K-12 and non-traditional students in meaningful ways.
- Retention Matters: It’s not just about getting students in the door; we want to ensure they thrive. Our retention initiatives will foster supportive environments that motivate students to complete their degrees, leading to a more skilled workforce.
