Are you ready for a career making the world a better place? With a degree from the UAA College of Health, you'll master the knowledge and tools you need to help people and make your community healthier. The college is Alaska's hub for degrees in health care and social services, with 45+ academic programs in clinical health care, social assistance, justice, and public health. Many of the college's programs prepare you for frontline careers providing care or services directly to patients and clients. Other programs train you to help people and communities through research, education, laboratory work, or administration.

    There are many pathways a person can take in choosing their career. Have you ever thought about how many people have degrees they aren't using? Chris Nicolette thought he wanted to be a pharmacist but along the way realized how much he loved the science of studying drug interactions in the human body. Now, he's working to earn a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at ISU, and looking forward to a promising future in the world of pharmacology and drug discovery.

    Bernie’s Pharmacy helps educate Alaska pharmacists for fifth year in a row

    Bernie’s Pharmacy is an Alaskan-owned, independent pharmacy in Anchorage, founded in 1980 by life-long Alaskan, Bernie Klouda. Over the years, Bernie provided the opportunity for pharmacy students to complete their intern rotations at Bernie’s Pharmacy, mentoring many pharmacy students and new pharmacists. Bernie had a long and distinguished career, and he believed strongly that educating pharmacists was important to ensure the health of Alaskans.
