English Language Partners

Language Partners can meet regularly to help understand homework assignments, interpret professor instructions, address barriers caused by the English language outside of the University, or just be a point of contact to ask questions of when they arise. This program exists to help ensure language is not a barrier to your success as a UAA student, so it will be tailored to your needs. The Writing Center provides one-on-one support through Language Partners for students who want to develop their English Language comprehension and usage. Partners can meet virtually through Zoom and are arranged by requesting a language partner or by emailing the Humanities Program Director, Heather Teel: hteel1@alaska.edu.

English Conversation Group

Open to anyone from the community, UAA, and ALP! Practice speaking English with UAA Professors and students. Work on your English language and American culture proficiency while discussing interesting topics to include: Holidays around the world, Traveling, Food, Anchorage Transportation, and Community Ideas! Everyone and all ages welcome!

Monthly 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 10 AM - 12 PM
First Meeting September 21st! Last Meeting December 7th.
