This summer, Sean Parnell stepped into the role of UAA chancellor. He's looking forward to fall semester and working with faculty, staff, alumni and university leadership to forge a bright future for Anchorage and Southcentral’s hometown university and its students.

Support for those affected by events in Afghanistan and Haiti

The recent earthquake in Haiti and the upheaval in Afghanistan have caused upset for many who have lived, worked, volunteered and served in these areas. If you need personal support during this time, students can reach out to the UAA Student Health and Counseling Center or Dean of Students Office and employees can utilize one of the employee support counseling resources.

Residence Life Fall Move-in call for volunteers

For staff, faculty and student organizations who wish to lend a helping hand, the Department of Residence Life is now registering move-in volunteers for Fall Move-In on Thursday, Aug. 19 and Friday, Aug. 20 in UAA’s residential community! We anticipate a day of fun, come rain or shine, as we help new and returning residents to settle into their homes for the academic year. We hope you'll join us!

Fall Teaching Academy runs Aug. 16-17 with Adjunct Orientation & Academy on Aug. 18

We encourage you to grab your morning coffee or tea and log in starting at 8:45 a.m. Monday to settle in and visit with colleagues as week begin our 2021 Fall Teaching Academy. Our Land Acknowledgement, Words of Welcome and Provost Runge's Plenary Session will begin at 9 a.m. With sessions on almost 30 topics led by 29 members of the university community, there are many options to engage, learn and (re)connect!
