Notice: UAA IT Services will be sending out Online Directory update reminders

UAA IT Services will be sending out update reminders to all UAA employees and departments. The purpose of this effort is to encourage individuals and departments to review and update their published information as appropriate. Prospective students, faculty and staff, as well as colleagues from other institutions, local schools, service agencies and area businesses regularly access the Online Directory, so it is important to keep this information up-to-date.

Job opening: UAA IT Services Web/Applications Engineer

UAA Information Technology Services is seeking a highly qualified individual to join our Web/Applications Team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in web development using technologies such as C#, PHP, and SQL Server. The Web/Applications Team is responsible for managing the University’s content management and learning management systems, integrating with 3rd party software, and creating and maintaining custom applications for use across campus. Candidates may apply until the position is closed.

Alaska FAFSA Completion Campaign

UAA has teamed up with financial aid and postsecondary professionals across Alaska, The Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education (ACPE) and the US Department of Education Federal Student Aid (FSA) to create a statewide Alaska FAFSA Completion Campaign.

April 22: UAA Spring Clean Up Day

Get outdoors and celebrate Earth Day with UAA by joining the Grounds Department as we clean up a winter's worth of trash on campus. Drop by any time during the event to pick up trash bags, tongs, nitrile gloves and safety vests. Supply pick-up will be located near the greenhouse at the east entry of Gordon Hartlieb Hall.

AI Webinar will explore the development of self-driving vehicles April 22

UAA’s College of Business and Public Policy announces “Driving into the Future,” the final installment of its special webinar series on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Thursday, April 22 lunchtime event is open to the public and will focus on the development of autonomous vehicles.

Director of Multicultural Student Services Open Forum

We have two finalists for the Director of Multicultural Student Services joining us virtually next week for their "campus" interviews. Please join us for the student open forums on Thursday, April 22, and Friday, April 23, from 12:30-1 p.m.

Director of Shared Services update

Steven Wildeck will assume the role of Acting Director of UAA Shared Services while the search for a permanent director continues, Interim Vice Chancellor Bill Jacob announced April 12. The appointment is effective immediately.

UAA IT Services FY21 Desktop and Telecommunications labor billing

UAA IT Services is preparing to start billing for Desktop and Telecom labor and parts. Most parts and equipment expenses are reconciled directly to the provided fund/orgs throughout the fiscal year. Labor expenses are billed once the labor rate is approved and are billed along with any equipment that wasn't directly expensed against a department's fund/org.
