Hiring Orientation Leaders!

The New Student Orientation office is hiring! We are hiring for our Orientation Leaders (Wolfpack Leaders), these positions help support new students start their journey at UAA, facilitate Howl Days, and support new student programming! These positions will begin training in mid-March and continue through the summer, with an opportunity to continue during the 2021/2022 academic year. Students are welcome to apply online!

UAA 2021 Business Plan Competition offers $10,500 in cash prizes

The 2021 Business Plan Competition, sponsored by UAA's College of Business and Public Policy, has expanded eligibility to include members of the community in addition to UAA students. Entries are due Feb. 8, 2021, but anyone who submits an Intent to Compete form by Dec. 4, 2020 will be invited to a mentoring seminar in January 2021.

This February marks Black History Month. It’s the first of a number of heritage and history months UAA celebrates throughout the year to highlight the rich and diverse cultural identities that make up the university community.

UA Interim President Pat Pitney will meet with Senate Education Committee Feb. 3

UA Interim President Pat Pitney will deliver a presentation to the Senate Education Committee on UA successes and strategic goals, and legislative priorities. President Pitney’s in-depth presentation will address the university’s legislative priorities and will highlight a number of topics including the university’s: key role in the state’s economy; strategic approach to serving Alaska’s educational needs while operating under budgetary constraints; maintaining key programs; service to Alaska during COVID-19; enrollment trends; and, research and federal initiatives.

Announcing UAA Website Initiative

UAA’s website serves prospective and current students throughout their college journey and after graduation. Our website allows students to explore the college experience and see themselves succeeding at UAA. EAB (Education Advisory Board) research shows that students rank the university website as the most helpful information source in their experience searching for a college to attend.
