September is National Preparedness Month: Make a Supply Kit

The UAA Office of Emergency Management reminds you to make a supply kit. Gather supplies that will last for several days after a disaster for everyone living in your home. Don’t forget to consider the unique needs each person or pet may have in case you have to evacuate quickly. Update your kits and supplies based on recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control.

The Positive Impact Social Media Challenge starts now!

It's National Suicide Prevention Week. Join us on social media to recognize those who have helped you at some point. We all need help sometimes and it's always okay to ask for help. Tag friends on social media this month that have had a positive impact in your life with #mostimpactful and challenge them to tag others that have helped them! Physical distancing during COVID-19 doesn't mean you have to feel alone.

Chancellor focuses on alignment of UAA campuses

I am writing today to announce a new change and leadership group to review and make recommendations about UAA’s structural and mission alignment in relation to our multi-campus environment. This group will be led by Dr. John Stalvey, special assistant to the chancellor, and is charged with optimizing campus relationships across UAA with improved coordination, alignment and organization of UAA’s community campuses.

CCEL Fall Faculty Minigrants RFP is now open! Due Sept. 11 at 5 p.m.

CCEL provides minigrant funding for faculty in two areas: 1) Research or Projects: to conduct community engaged research or plan and carry out community projects; and 2) Curriculum: to create or redesign curriculum incorporating community engagement and community partnerships. Apply by Sept. 11, 2020.

Join Concert Board — Gain entertainment industry and leadership experience

The UAA Concert Board needs seven members to join its ranks and help us bring up performances by big name musicians and comedians to UAA. In recent years, the Board has presented shows by Maggie Rogers, Nick Offerman, Atmosphere, Ron Funches, Macklemore, Demetri Martin and many others.
