UAA Surplus now has items to view and select online!

UAA General Support Services and the Surplus team has implemented a new online method for departments to view inventory and claim items. We are very pleased to be able to offer a new system to UAA departments that will make viewing and selection of items for re-use on campus a better experience!

Alaska INBRE Multi-Year Developmental Research Pilot Project Proposals Request

The Alaska IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (AK INBRE 4), supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health, is soliciting applications for its Multi-Year Developmental Research Pilot Project. These grants are awarded each year for developmental research projects in the biomedical and health sciences to partner institutions in Alaska to improve competitiveness for winning ongoing, independent support for research and graduate student training programs.

College During COVID: What is the Student Emergency Fund?

The UAA Student Emergency Fund was established 20 years ago to help students experiencing a financial emergency due to unexpected events, such as loss of housing, an unanticipated medical bill or paying utilities. Since the pandemic crisis began, UAA has received over 340 applications requesting financial assistance from students ranging in need from helping to pay for academic course materials and technology to covering rent and purchasing food.

Alaska Humanities Forum hosts 'Racism in Alaska: What is Our Capacity to Change'

The Alaska Humanities Forum is hosting a three-part series called Racism in Alaska: What is Our Capacity to Change. Events include Racism: Stories from Alaska (Aug. 17, noon); Racism: Integenerational Perspectives (Aug. 18, noon); and Racism: Pathways Forward (Aug. 19, noon). The UAA Seawolf Transfer Trail is here

The Office of the Registrar, Admissions and several advisors combined efforts to implement a new transfer portal designed to allow prospective transfer students a chance to see how their previous coursework would meet UAA degree requirements. With the Seawolf Transfer Trail tool, it takes as little as 10 minutes to determine how their previous test scores and coursework would transfer to UAA and apply to different associate and baccalaureate degrees.

College During COVID: Updates to testing, travel and other policy guidance

On Aug. 11, the new State of Alaska travel mandate goes into effect. The changes to the state mandate mean that the university also needs to update its guidance in three areas: student testing; university travel; and campus entry restrictions.
