Call for applications: Associate Director of CCEL

Faculty Development and Instructional Support seeks applications for a faculty member to serve as Associate Director of the Center for Community Engagement & Learning (CCEL), the primary entity responsible for promoting and supporting service ­learning and community ­engagement at UAA and its affiliated community campuses.

Campus community protective equipment

UAA EHS and Facilities departments have been working to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our campus community. Great effort has been made to thoroughly clean and disinfect all touch-points in campus buildings. We are also providing community protective equipment, such as hand sanitizer at building entrances and supplies for disinfecting in classrooms, as well as ensuring all soap dispensers for handwashing are working and filled.

Advise a student org!

Looking for a way to connect with students this fall? Advising a student organization is a meaningful, rewarding role that forges strong connections outside the classroom. This fall, some student organizations are left without advisors, so Student Life and Leadership is soliciting interested faculty and staff to join a pool student organizations in need can explore.

Student Union open for fall 2020

The Student Union will open to students and faculty/staff on Aug. 24. Weekly hours will be Monday through Friday, 0800 - 1700 (5 p.m.). The Student Union will adhere to all Phase B operating policies/procedures, which includes the closure of the Subway, Taqueria and convenience store at the Information Desk. New additions and alterations include limited Gear Room, virtual programming with the UAA Esports Lounge and a virtual Information Desk, as well as two new vending machines (located in the upper hallway near the Seawolf Sports Complex).

Job opening: Communications Coordinator

The Division of Human Services, Justice and Social Work are seeking applications for a Communications Coordinator. This position will work as part of the College of Health’s communications team, and will be responsible for developing and disseminating content for the Division’s internal and external communications and marketing channels.

College During COVID: Are UAA buildings and facilities open? How do I access them?

For the fall 2020 semester, access to UAA facilities is generally restricted, meaning keys and WOLFCards are required to access campus buildings. Students will have access to the buildings where essential services are located and they will have access to face-to-face classes. New and replacement WOLFcards are available from the University Center Cashiering Office or the UAA/APU Consortium Library.

Resources for student employee supervisors

Career Services is excited to announce that we have recently updated our employee intranet to include a plethora of resources for student employee supervisors. This page now includes resources to assist student employee supervisors in recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, and training student employees in both a remote and in-person environment. It is our sincere hope that these resources will alleviate stress or confusion, streamline the hiring and onboarding process, and result in students being hired in a timely fashion.

Aug. 7: Retirement Drive-By for Pat Moores and Fannie Slaten

CBPP will be hosting a "Retirement Drive-By" Friday, Aug. 7, 4–5 p.m. in front of Rasmuson Hall in the West Campus Central Parking Lot for Pat Moores, who is retiring after more than 45 years of service to UAA, and Fannie Slaten, who recnetly retired with over 35 years of service to UAA.
