On Jan. 11 and 12, UAA held the first annual Alaska Native Values in Modern Governance gathering. Hosted by the College of Business and Public Policy and College of Arts and Sciences, the two-day inaugural training event featured 28 sessions delivered by 21 speakers hailing from Alaska Native corporations, nonprofits and village and tribal councils.

The Campus-Community Emergency Response Team (C-CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
