Eclipse mania is everywhere this week, as the Lower 48 prepares for a rare total solar event that will skirt 12 states. Though Alaska is off the path of totality this time, it had its turn in the anti-spotlight on July 20, 1963. Read more about Talkeetna's summer of eclipse mania.

September 2017: 'Transition' at Hugh McPeck Gallery

Please join us for the upcoming exhibit "Transition" to honor former UAA faculty member Hugh McPeck. "Transition" will feature work created by more than 20 of Hugh's former students and colleagues. The opening reception will be on Aug. 31, 4–6 p.m., followed by a Second Friday event on Sept. 8, from 5–7 p.m.

School of Allied Health partial closure scheduled for Aug. 17 and 18, 2017

The School of Allied Health will be closed Thursday, Aug. 17, 8 a.m.–1 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 18, 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

ML&P work update: Closure shifting west, impacts to Seawolf Drive intersection

Starting Aug. 16, Municipal Light and Power's closure of Providence Drive westbound lanes will shift to be between Seawolf Drive and Spirit Drive. In addition, access to campus via Seawolf Drive will be blocked Aug. 19. Access will be maintained via Spirit Drive.
