2017 Japanese Summer Festival at UAA

The Consular Office of Japan and the Japan Alaska Association invite UAA staff and students to attend the Japanese Summer Festival on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. at UAA Lucy Cuddy Hall. This free public event is conducted each year to share Japanese culture with UAA and the Anchorage community, with entertainment, music, cuisine and educational opportunities offered throughout the day.

Gunnar Knapp selected as 2017 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence recipient

The University of Alaska Foundation announced that long-time academic leaders Michelle Bartlett and Gunnar Knapp will receive the 2017 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence. Bartlett, director of Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and Gunnar Knapp, professor emeritus of economics at the University of Alaska Anchorage, will each receive $10,000 for their significant contributions to the University of Alaska.
