Shawn Dinkins '13, reigning soup chef of the city, serves up meals for Anchorage's hungry youth at Covenant House Alaska. Next up: a culinary training program to help residents land kitchen careers outside the shelter. "It's so rewarding," she said.

New admission application deadlines and late fee for the Anchorage campus

The Anchorage campus has a new schedule of application deadlines to encourage students to complete their admission earlier, so they have the time needed to meet with an academic advisor, register for classes, and apply for financial aid putting them on the path to success. The application deadline for fall is July 15.

Introducing Deer Oaks, new provider for UA Employee Assistance Program

Starting July 1, 2017, the University of Alaska will no longer be using the services of ComPsych. The new Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider will be Deer Oaks. Deer Oaks has extensive experience working with public employers and brings some additional features to university employees and dependents.
