An inside look at college partnership for Alaska Middle College School

He holds up a smooth, brown, six-inch-long T-shaped object before handing it off to a nearby student for closer examination. One more national champ for the Seawolves, five All-Americans

UAA’s track and field athletes put in impressive performances at the NCAA Division II championships this past weekend in Pueblo, Colo., including a powerful javelin toss by Cody Parker that earned him top honors. The 255-foot-10-inch throw was the second longest in Div. II history and smashed the Pueblo facility record by 20 feet. Joining him for All-American honors were Susan Tanui, Ruth Keino, Franz Burghagen and Karolin Anders. More results here.

Her favorite part of her job as director of corporate communications for Alaska Communications is working with the company’s leaders to develop effective communication strategies to ultimately boost their bottom line. But this business-minded Alaskan wasn’t always set on a career in strategic communication. Read how this lifelong Alaskan started her career in publishing in fast-paced New York City, but ultimately followed her heart back to her hometown.
