UAA School of Education update

Dear UAA Community,
By now you may have heard about the University of Alaska Board of Regents' 6-5 vote on Monday to discontinue initial licensure programs in UAA's School of Education.
President Johnsen sent this note yesterday following the decision.
We turn our attention now to a smooth transition for the affected students. We will continue to focus on student success and keep our attention on helping SoEd students find productive paths forward.
I shared the following note with students in the SoEd's initial licensure programs yesterday. The resources provided in this message are available to all faculty, staff and students in case you, or someone you know, needs them.
Now more than ever, the students impacted by the board's decision need our support and guidance. We will provide both for them in the spirit of community to help ensure these students achieve their goals.
