The School of Nursing is seeking applications for an Officer Manager/Assistant to the Director

This position will serve as an administrative assistant to the Director, will be responsible for the management of the School of Nursing administrative office, and will foster and maintain positive working relationships with faculty and staff. This recruitment is open internally to current UA employees or those otherwise eligible to apply to internal postings. Posting will close on October 22, 2020.

Open Textbooks and Student Success: An Open Textbook Library Perspective

Want to learn more about OER? And be PAID for reviewing an open textbook in YOUR field? Join the UAA Textbook Affordability Committee for Open Textbooks and Student Success: An Open Textbook Library Perspective. This faculty workshop focuses on understanding students’ financial predicament and its impact on their academic success. In this workshop, the Open Education Network (formerly Open Textbook Network) will introduce faculty to open textbooks and the benefits they can bring to student learning and faculty pedagogical practice. The workshop will highlight one OER repository: the Open Textbook Library (OTL). Faculty are invited to engage with open textbooks by writing a brief review of a textbook in the OTL following the workshop. To be awarded $200 by the Consortium Library, participants must: Register and complete the 1-hr asynchronous training before 12p AKST October 16, 2020 Attend and participate in a 1-hr interactive workshop on October 16, 2020 (12p-1p AKST) Submit an open textbook review by January 8, 2021 See detailed registration and workshop instructions, including how to register, access the asynchronous training, join the interactive session, and complete the textbook review, at the Textbook Affordability website!

Know Your Numbers program now open for appointments

The Know Your Numbers (KYN) program is a service that provides a series of exercise tests that will assess your current fitness level to give you the information you need to create health and fitness goals. To reach those goals, your student technician/fitness professional will design an exercise program just for you based on your exercise test results, teach you how to do the exercises correctly and will keep you inspired.
