There is understandable concern about the novel coronavirus outbreak that originated in China. While there has been some spread to other countries, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to emphasize that the immediate health risk to the U.S. public remains low at this time.

Alaskans will have two opportunities this month to comment directly to the Board of Regents on issues facing the University of Alaska.

UAA Accounting Services will open late Friday, Feb. 14, 2020 for staff training. The Call Center and Cashiering windows will open at 1 p.m. Student account payments may be made online 24/7 via ACH or credit/debit card. Departments may utilize the drop box for departmental deposits.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the campus fuel dispensers located at Gordon Hartlieb Hall (GHH) are currently offline until further notice. Please fuel university vehicles off-campus at gas stations, following UA ProCard purchasing protocols.

The UAA/Anchorage Daily News Creative Writing Contest is accepting entries now through Feb. 12, 2020, at 5 p.m. This is a free contest with no entry fees. Categories are fiction, nonfiction and poetry for grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and the general public (including UAA students).

Following the Accreditation Kick Off on Oct.4, we continued to build a list of Core Competencies as we met with governance groups across campus, as well as other key constituents, such as the board of UAA’s alumni association.

UAA's administrative review process is now underway. Administrative area leaders received a questionnaire for completion by Wednesday, Feb. 26.
