In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. and Alaska Civil Rights Day, we chatted about the importance of honoring Black History in Alaska with Ian Hartman, associate professor in UAA's Department of History.

The graduate public health programs at UAA have been continuously accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). As we approach the 20th anniversary of UAA’s MPH program, the university is participating in a regularly scheduled accreditation review and site visit April 13-14, 2023.

UAA Emergency Management will be holding an informative training session on Friday, Feb. 3 on winter weather safety. This training will be one among a series of emergency management related topic sessions. Additional information will be provided closer to the date of the training.
The UAA Education Abroad Office is excited to announce an opportunity for UAA students to apply for the CIEE Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship. The application is currently open through the CIEE website. Applications are due Tuesday, Feb. 14.
