Excitement is brewing as we gear up for the Alaska State ProStart Hospitality Career Fair on Monday, February 5th, 2024, hosted at Cuddy Hall on the UAA Anchorage campus in a partnership with AlaskaCHARR Educational Fund!

The panel features Rebekah Horsechief (Osage/Pawnee), Ian Hartman (Chair of History), Rebecca Maseda (Language Department) and Maria Williams (AKNS). The event is facilitated by Deborah Mole.

UAA receives $46M from Department of Homeland Security to lead Arctic homeland security

The Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate granted the University of Alaska Anchorage $46 million over the next ten years to lead a consortium of U.S. academic institutions and partners for the newly established Arctic Domain Awareness Center (ADAC)-ARCTIC Center of Excellence (COE) for Homeland Security in the Arctic.

Improving care through simulation

Students Gabriel Caterinicchio, Angellynndiite Maiava, Enoch Schnyder, and Kole Rhodes treat simulated participant performer Adam Lasalle during a 3-station rapid-fire trauma series of simulated encounters for students in Chris Lau's EMT A130 course in UAA's Allied Health Sciences Building.

Students in fall's EMT 130 — Emergency Medical Technician I burnished their clinical and decision-making skills in a trio of rapid-fire trauma simulations, thanks to a first-time partnership between the Fire and Emergency Services program and the Interprofessional Health Sciences Simulation Center.

CLEP-A-THON on JBER at the Airforce Education Center

A CLEP-A-THON is a drop in test day or week that allows the test taker to take as many CLEP exams as they can. Examinees will still be required to register but can do so onsite with assistance from test center staff.

Join Ethan/ Kayaaní J Lauesen at the UAA Printmaking Studio for a demonstration on Intaglio printing. Learn about the technical process of printing a copper plate etching and adding additional colors through chine-collé. This event is free and open to the public.

The Learning Commons' new location on the first floor of the UAA/APU Consortium Library serves as a hub of student engagement and learning at UAA with a community-centered design, creative study spaces and free support services available in-person and online.

WWAMI School of Medical Education is recruiting for an Anatomy Faculty

The UAA School of Medical Education is a partnership with the University of Washington School of Medicine (UWSOM), part of the Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho (WWAMI) decentralized medical education program. UAA WWAMI is seeking applicants for a non-tenure track appointment in the School of Medical Education, teaching Human Form and Function (HFF) to 1st and 2nd year medical students in the Foundations Phase.
