UAA's Krivtsov records first collegiate win

Lewiston, N.Y. – Tyler Krivtsov made 33 saves to lead Alaska Anchorage to a 3-1 win at Niagara Saturday. The win was the first collegiate win for Krivtsov.
Matt Johnson scored first for the Seawolves when he fired a one-timer top-shelf at 7:50 of the first period. Logan Acheson and Nolan Gagnon assisted on the goal.
Connor Marritt took advantage of a turnover of a turnover in the Niagara defensive zone by firing a wrist shot past Mitchell Day at 9:54 for his second goal of the season.
Jay Ahearn scored the lone goal for the Purple Eagles in the opening minute of the second period, but Max Helgeson scored for the second straight night at 3:13 of the second period. Matt Johnson assisted on the goal for his second point of the game. Ryan Johnson also assisted on the goal.
UAA finished 0-for-2 on the powerplay and did not give Niagara a single power play opportunity.
NU led 34-20 shots.
UAA will host UAF in the Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup Jan. 18. Fans are encouraged to wear white to the game and the Seawolf 5th Line will be collecting donations for the UAA Food Pantry.
