Thank you for supporting Giving Day 2025
by Green and Gold News |

Last week, UAA celebrated 49 Hours for Alaska with the university’s fifth annual Giving Day, March 25-27. The 49 hour philanthropic event is hosted in partnership with the UA Foundation, UAF and UAS. This year was UAA’s most successful event to date!
UAA built on the momentum of last year’s Giving Day, which saw the community come together like never before. In 2024, UAA received more than $428K in donations from over 1,700 donors. This year, the university increased that success by providing even more opportunities for donors to support the programs nearest to their heart.
Initial results came in at 1 p.m. on March 27, totaling over 1,750 donors who contributed more than $420K dollars to individual funds, matches from generous donors and from students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the UAA community. Social media amplified the giving spirit by flooding local Facebook and Instagram pages with green and gold for more than two full days as UAA colleges, community campuses, student groups, student-athletes and community members spread the word about Giving Day.
“Giving Day has been a tremendous success,” said Sean Parnell, UAA chancellor. “Thank you for your generosity and helping UAA create opportunities across Alaska through education."For those who missed the 49-hour window but still want to give, gifts can still be made to the university online at engage.alaska.edu.
