Celebrate solstice and 50th anniversary of Apollo 8 - Dec. 21, 2018

The UAA Planetarium & Visualization Theater will present its final two shows of 2018 this Friday, Dec. 21, and we have something great scheduled! Friday is not only the day of the Winter Solstice, but it is also the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 8 mission.

Alumni Drive will be closed at Providence Drive on Dec. 19 and 20, 2018. East Campus will remain accessible via the intersection at Alumni Drive and UAA Drive.

Blackboard Learn: Notice of Dec. 21, 2018 outage

On Dec. 21, UA Blackboard Learn will be unavailable between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a system upgrade. Please use this information to plan accordingly.

Accounting Services opening early Dec. 19, 2018

On Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, UAA Accounting Services will open late due to a staff function. The University Center lobby, Cashiering windows, and Call Center will open to serve students and departments at 1 p.m. on Dec. 19.

Combining efforts to raise awareness of hunger and homelessness at UAA

Nationally, food insecurity has become a conversation across college campuses as administrators realize that many students face hunger and homelessness while attending school. At UAA, the Hunger and Homelessness Support Network has formed to help combat this growing issue.

Piloting grad spreads joy via plane and sleigh

In the summer, UAA professional piloting alumnus Dan Bale is an Alaska bush pilot who has logged more than 19,000 flight hours throughout his 44-year career. In the winter, Bale is more affectionately known as Santa Dan.
