Para Professional Exam

The ParaPro Assessment measures the reading, writing and basic math competencies of practicing and prospective paraprofessionals.  It also offers an objective assessment of a prospective teacher's requisite foundation of knowledge and skills and the ability to effectively use those skills in the classroom (ets.org/parapro).

 

When can I take it?

Examinees must schedule at least 24 hours and pay online to take the test.

 

Where can I take it?

The test is offered at the UAA Testing Center  inside the UAA Consortium Library at the north entrance.

How long is the test?

The test is 2.5 hours in length.

 

How do I study for the test?

How much does it cost?

The cost to take the test is $93.00. This includes a $3.00 credit card processing fee. 

 

What if I don't pass? can I retake the test?

Yes candidates may retake the test 21 days from the date of testing.

 

Do I receive a score report?

Candidates will be able to view and print an unofficial copy of the scores at the end of the test.  An official score report will be sent to the State of Alaska Credentialing office within 4 weeks of testing.  

 

Will the School District Accept my unofficial scores?

Please check with the school district directly to see if unofficial scores are acceptable.
