Educational Talent Search is a federally funded program that assists high school students with preparing for postsecondary education. ETS serves students in grades 9 - 12 at Bartlett, West, and Bettye Davis East High Schools in the Anchorage School District. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to support successful enrollment and completion of a future Associates or Bachelors degree. ETS is currently accepting students and will be offering field trips, college tours, career exploration opportunities, advising support, and camps throughout this spring and summer.

Eligibility and Requirements

To participate in ETS a student must be:

  1. A current 9th-12th grade student
  2. Attend West High, Bartlett High, or Bettye Davis East High School
  3. Have a desire to pursue either trade school, an Associates degree, or Bachelors degree (at any institution of higher education)
  4. A family household income that meets the low-income guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Education and/or be a potential first generation college student (your parents/adoptive parents or legal guardians have not received a bachelor's degree).

Due to being a Federally Funded Program, UAA TRIO ETS participants must also be a US Citizen, Permanent Resident, or are currently in the process of becoming a Permanent Resident. Evidence of residency is verified by:

  1. A Social Security Number  OR
  2. Permanent Resident A-Number OR
  3. Documentation that student is in the process of becoming a Permanent Resident

ETS is currently accepting applications for participation in our programs at Bartlett High School, West High School, and Bettye Davis East High School. Please follow the steps below to apply to ETS

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the page to access the TRIO ETS Application and enter both parent and student email addresses. Or download and print a paper application.

  2. Students completes the online application first and submits then...
  3. The parent/guardian checks their email to complete and submit their portion of the application.
