Though not a requirement, the department recommends that students take MUS 156 (Functional Piano) to help them prepare for the Piano Proficiency Exam.

Of the sixteen required credits of ‘Major Ensemble,’ piano majors must choose two semesters (four credits) from the following ensembles: MUS 301B, 307B or 405B.
