Public Notice of Upcoming Accreditation Review Visit by the ACEN
The University of Alaska Anchorage School of Nursing wishes to announce that it will
host a site visit for continuing accreditation of its Associate of Applied Science,
Bachelor of Science, Masters of Science and Graduate Certificate nursing programs
by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
You are invited to meet with the site visit team and share your comments about the
program in person at a meeting scheduled at 4:00pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, in
room 110 of the Health Sciences Building, located at 3795 Piper Street, Anchorage,
AK 99508 or you may attend via Zoom.
Written comments are also welcome and should be submitted to the ACEN via email at public-comments@acenursing.org or to the ACEN office:

Academic Programs
Use advanced simulation technology and real-world clinical learning experiences to
become a successful nursing generalist.
Rodger Lewerenz, an assistant professor in the UAA School of Nursing, is dedicated to mentoring future nurses and nurse educators, with a special passion for the MSN Leadership in Education offering.
A monthly injection of Vivitrol calms cravings for heroin, giving real help to addicts emerging from prison and, as UAA DNP alumna Jyll Green discovered, providing a good chance of keeping them from going back behind bars.
Four women—Jyll Green, Jill Rife, Leigh Keefer and Robin Bassett—became the first class of graduates to accept Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from UAA at fall commencement.
