Housing Rates

2024-2025 Housing Rates

Housing Cost-Savings Initiatives: Housing Facilities and Finance is committed to providing students with a living learning experience that is both affordable and high quality. Our efforts related to affordability have included generous discounts to the cost of meal plans and housing over the past several academic years. Housing Facilities and Finance is pleased to announce that cost-saving initiatives will continue in the 2024-2025 academic year, though with some modifications that will allow us to continue offering housing that is high quality as well as affordable. Please visit the websites for each of the initiatives for further details:

  • Live and Learn in Alaska: This initiative allows students with a non-resident or international Residency Code who live on campus to receive the equivalent of in-state tuition rates for courses taught through UAA. Note: Eligibility to receive this benefit is dependent on students finalizing their residency with the Office of Admissions. Students whose residency status is listed as “pending” will not be eligible for this benefit.
  • General Housing Scholarship: Students living on campus who do not have their tuition reduced through the Live and Learn in Alaska initiative will receive a $500 discount on their fall and spring housing costs. Note: Eligibility to receive this benefit is dependent on students finalizing their residency with the Office of Admissions. Students whose residency status is listed as “pending” will not be eligible for this benefit.
  • Academic Honors Housing Scholarship: UA Scholars and students in the University Honors College who live on campus will receive a $750 discount on their fall and spring housing costs.

Rate Increase: Housing Facilities and Finance is committed to making the experience of living on campus as affordable as possible for UAA students. Over the past seven years, significant resources have been invested in the comfort and safety of our facilities despite rising costs for labor, materials and services. Despite rising costs, leadership has chosen to prioritize affordability to students, and has not raised rates for housing over the same seven-year period. In order for Housing Facilities and Finance to continue offering safe, comfortable housing options to UAA students, a modest increase of $100 in the 2024-2025 academic year will be implemented. Housing Facilities and Finance will continue to seek cost-cutting measures and efficiencies to ensure rate increases are kept as low as possible.

  • All students living in the residence halls are required to have one of our full-semester meal plans.
  • Residents living in one of our apartments or townhomes have the option to purchase a meal plan, but are not required to do so. Meal plan options for these residents include the full-semester meal plans in addition to smaller meal plans that can supplement the meals from their own kitchens.
