ANCAP on Campus
Through our presence on campus and in the community, ANCAP strives toward three interrelated goals:
- Emphasize the strengths of Alaska Native communities and cultures;
- Involve both individual- and social-level solutions to behavioral health concerns facing Alaska's communities; and
- Encourage Alaska Native students to give back and contribute to their communities - an approach to addressing health issues and promoting wellness that is more likely to produce positive and sustainable results.

ANCAP offers four competitive grants of up to $1,500 each year for both undergraduate and graduate students. These grants are intended to support outstanding research or service projects related to the psychological experiences of Alaska Native and/or American Indian communities. You can learn more about the grant proposal and eligibility guidelines at the link below. Proposals are accepted year-roud, but all applications must be submitted by December 1st.
ANCAP publishes a newsletter once or twice per year to share information with the members of ANCAP, UAA campus, and the local community. These newsletters feature stories about ANCAP members, activities, and opportunities, and often accompany us on trips to rural Alaska to promote ANCAP. If you have a story or announcement you would like to add to the newsletter, please contact us at ANPsych.UAA@gmail.com!
